I like this song a lot.

I saw the Stones on their very first date in Detroit at Cobo Hall in 65. Sparsely attended. They hadn't broken big yet. Satisfaction had just been released. Overall I seen them about 6 or 7 times.

I have seen very few live concerts and very many plays. I guess words resonate with me more than music. Or at least I am willing to pay for it. Of course a lot of those plays were musicals. So both sometimes.

Until the last five years I would go to see live bands on a weekly basis. There are certain performers I have seen over 20 times-Springsteen, Lou Reed, Elvis Costello, Alejandro Escovedo. Never cared much for plays. Remember being taken to The Heidi Chronicles which I believe won the Pulitzer and thinking this awful. Altho I saw a performance of M Butterfly which I liked at the Fisher. Hated Rent but liked Spamalot.

They were already Very big in the UK, not that being given "I Wanna Be Your Man" by Lennon and McCartney in '64 hurt matters much for them.

Somehow, I think the band or certainly Andrew Oldham might approve of 69 as the age to really start digging them.
