I think the best comment I've read on guns in America is this one from the Economist: "Those who live in America, or visit it, might do best to regard [mass shootings] the way one regards air pollution in China: an endemic local health hazard which, for deep-rooted cultural, social, economic, and political reasons, the country is incapable of addressing."

However, China's pollution is an ill-conceived attempt to catch up with western economies. What purpose does gun ownership serve for society? Shame on every politician who watched Sandy Hook and did not devote themselves to gun control. What could possibly be more important than making sure four-year olds don't die.

This is great, Patti, and I couldn't agree with you more...

When Newtown happened and Jackie said they should wait to bring up a law I told her the only way it would ever pass - unlikely under any circumstances - was if it came up for a vote immediately. It didn't and I knew it would never pass.

But don't worry - they are still trying to repeal Obamacare.

Priorities.

Me either. I like this routine a lot but boy, the F word is so overused and referring to women by the C word is also slowly being accepted. Too bad.

Comedian Jackie Kashian suggests she might just prefer the "C word" to the "B word," since she isn't sure what the charmer is trying to say when he or she notes that she has a vagina, as opposed to knowing exactly what they're trying to say by calling her a bitch. Rather sad really that it's meant as an extra insult in Britain to call a man a vagina.

I must admit I didn't note the use of the strong language, so much as the message.
